Flea Market Studio

What a week! Turn out the lights the Party is finally over! Just relaxing and taking it easy after that crazy party. 24 kids and tons of cake..... leaves me with a giant headache! Miss my blog friends this week~ I found these gigantic Playing cards and had fun making some pages. I  hung them on the back porch for my mom to look at. She came into town with her husband. I don't know about you but I go into major cleaning mode when Mom comes! Spent three days to be exact! One of the best things of having my Mom come is she loves to go thrifting also, Who do you think taught me? We only had time to go to one place, but look what I found for 1.99!! So Mexican style! Just like Me! What else? I finally get some pictures taken of me and my girl. I am usually behind the camera, so this was a treat. Well if you look close, you can see my husband in the background! It made me laugh so hard! But darn him ! These are the only pictures I will probably have until next year! Here is another one this time without his mug .......... Bye for now while I go take a much needed siesta! Adios Amiga's, now you know what I look like, poor you!

Dariannes Birthday week!

My girl is turning 5!! I wrapped the gifts to give out at the Party Saturday..... My girl got her outfit to wear today, and she got a manicure:  there are not many things I indulge in but a manicure and pedicure every once in a while is on the top of my list! Its like driving a car after its been washed, I don't know about you but I feel like it drives much smoother! My mother has been sick lately, Wow I am officially old! Now I get to worry about my Mother! Are your plants and flowers coming in at a speedy rate??? My grapevines were sticks 2 weeks ago and look at this! I cant believe how out of control they are getting! The baby grapes are already there, they are so cute! Its funny every time the grapes come in I think about my favorite I LOVE LUCY episode where Lucy is stomping on the grapes! That one cracks me up so much it makes my sides hurt.. good times! I haven't had much time to create lately or go Thrifting, but I did score on this beautiful velvet ribbon spool for 1 dollar!

I also found this Eiffel Tower Lamp for $5.25. It wasn't working at the Thrift Store but I took it home anyways and when I got home it worked! I think that's why they had it for so cheap! I hope everyone has had a great week! 

found these pretties today...... It is officialy Spring! Love these huge Satin and Velvet Vintage Flowers! Everyone has been asking about the little boy that the Mom left at the Store..... I called the Police Station today and they are not allowed to tell me. I called the Store and asked the Manger that was there about him and she said she heard the Mother never came back and he is in Child Protected custody...... Ohhh that just breaks my heart! Thank you for all your kind words........ I wish I had good news to report about him. Well I spent the last couple of days making my new little invention... Here they are: 

They are Vintage Lens collage Pins! I am so happy at the way they turned out and I put them on my Etsy. I also put some Mother's day packs on there also......What else? I was cleaning the Studio...... yes, again!  Took Emily's idea and decided to take a large pack of playing cards and just play as I put things away..... Instead of hiding things in my suitcases and throwing scraps away... Wow I was surprised of what I could do with my Scraps! Here are some: I dont know what I am going to do with them, but it was fun anyways! Hope everyone is having a great Week!

Lot of Treasures to share and a little roller coaster ride alon the way!

So many treasures to share this weekend! First, I made this little Easter Bunny Basket last night... cracks me up! OK, the next things is my roller coaster day yesterday. I had the day to myself, so I take advantage of it by Thrifting of course.....I could kick myself, I forgot to call my Thrifting pal Liz! Maybe this week girl??? OK, well I started off strong, hitting a new place with so many Treasures! and the best prices! Then I hit my other Treasure spots in Phoenix.... That's where My roller coaster ride began! I was in a run-down part of Phoenix and was in the middle of hunting when I over-heard a lady say "can you believe a mother would do that?" I happened to look over at the cash register and saw this little boy sitting there with tears streaming down his face. I went over there and asked if he was OK, they said his Mom left him there and he has been there for over 2 hours!!! They said they could barely understand his broken English.. Well good thing I was there, I am fluent in Spanish. I asked him if he knew his phone number, address. He said "no".  I asked him his age, he said 7!! Ohh how could a kid that age not know his own number? I mean, at this point my head is spinning with so many thoughts and just mad at that mother for leaving this poor, disheveled little boy! Finally the policeman arrived and thats when he lost it! I had to calm him down by telling him he was here to help him. I translated as the cop asked him questions.. He said he knew how to walk to his house... I felt like I had to go with him because there was no way he was getting in that police car! Well, I went and he had us all over Phoenix and finally the cop said to me that this little boy does not know where he lived...he had to take him to the station. He dropped me back off at the store and left with the little boy's face staring at me through the car window!  My heart aches for this little guy! I got in my car and lost it! I was a wreck the whole afternoon...... How could a mother do that????? Ohhh so sorry to get you down....Poor little guy though! Well no more sadness! I found some great things and finally finished Kari and Marylin's books and they are off in the Mail tomorrow! Here are my finds:   Let's see The ledger book 4.50, the Vintage flashcards 75 cents, the porcelain doll 1 dollar, the beautiful ribbon 50 cents each, the Eiffel Tower Chess piece was 50 cents, tulle and fabric 1.00 each, the Mona Lisa was a dollar, Vintage Picture frame 1 dollar, the coolest powdered paint was 1 dollar for both, Vintage cloth bags to put hankies and gloves 1 dollar each, the Jewelry was 2.00 and less, The little Easter Die Cuts were a bag for 1 dollar, and the find of the day........ Over 80 sheets of Vintage Sheet music for 25 cents a piece..... I think the guy thought I was getting a bad deal, because he took it down to 12 dollars!! My mind is filled with Easter Eggs.....

I got the Easter Decorations out this past weekend. I found this cute little Egg stand last year at one of my Thrift Stores, cant remember what I paid for it. I used it to hold little flower vases last year. I usually change things up the following year. Well  this is what I came up with, little egg cups filled with the cutest Dollar store candles! The only problem is where to find more of these egg cups! I have enough for one side, I might have to mix and match with flowers...... I love it though! Ive spent the day Decoupaging eggs and working on Kari's and Marylin's books. Wow these girls are sooo talented! They are beautiful... I hope they post them when they we are finished with them! I know I will!! here are some of the pages I did today in Kari's book :

I had alot of fun working on them today, tomorrow I will post the pages I worked on Marylin's book. I  also took a couple of pictures of  a basket that was just sitting on my patio with trims and projects. I don't know why but I just love just looking at it, as I do this little Birdie in its nest sitting on my new little shelf. What else? Dateline is on tonight, will 1/2 watch, 1/2 create while it's on. I also love Collage Basketball, March Madness! No particular team but I get into filling out the brackets for the Sweet Sixteen to the final four. I am a sucker for a good Cinderella Team! Ohh also some great news to share! My friend Mendy is coming to visit me in AZ! We met 3 years ago on line and e-mail each other at least 4 times a week. I am so happy! I better get out one of my happy dance Tags!! That's all y'all (shes from Texas just practicing hehe!)

And I think to Myself what a wonderful World..........

I had to share my walk at the park today. I run or walk 5 times a week at our local park. It has a man-made lake and the best path that surrounds it. Well, I forgot my Ipod and Zune.  Usually when that happens I spend more time taking in the surroundings. This is what I saw: a little old lady walking with a golf club in her hand (maybe to fight off attackers??), the local homeless guy had his cart decorated with Easter eggs (how did he get them??)  , at one part of the park there was  a Mexican Birthday Party with a Pinata, Mexican music, and the smell of Carne Asada tacos (made me a little homesick),  and at the other end of the park a huge group was celebrating Saint Patty's day early. I thought to myself what a Wonderful World......... I was in the backyard today planting flowers and watering them and caught my Daughter putting flowers between her toes..... she was enjoying herself so much I wouldn't dare tell her to not pick the flowers! What else? Ohh went Thrift Shopping for the first time in a while and found some fun things!

Lets see, 4 rolls of wallpaper not a roll over 3 dollars and they a beautiful!  Lots of little bags of Victorian scraps for 1.99 each, 99 cents for the Vintage flashcards, lots of little pins under 2 dollars each, lace trim 2.95 for a huge roll, lots of antique postcards, millinery flowers and some stationary. Very fun! I also found this cute little shelf for 6 dollars, I love the chicken wire on the doors! Ohh I sure did miss going. Now time to create with the goods!                                     

Sending Spring Wishes your Way....

For all you girls that live back East, I am sending you some Spring Wishes! It is warm here in Phoenix. But you have to promise me that you will be sending Cool air our way when we hit 115! Ive finally got my Easter Etsy up. I started way later than I wanted to. I am in the middle of decorating for Easter. Here is what my ever-changing Chandelier looks like right now:                                                                                                                                          

I added some clip-on flowers to it. We had to turn the air-conditioner for the first time this year, it got to 90.... and it wouldn't come on. My husband called the air-conditioner repair man to come on Friday. Well before I go on, let me just say that I love my husband and would never even consider being with anyone else, but it doesn't hurt to just look, that's all. OK, that being said....... I was not prepared for the 33 year old that showed up at my door! You know usually what to expect when the repair man comes to your home, not this guy, looked like he just came out of the pages of a magazine!  The funny part about it is it felt like a Desperate Housewives episode, 3 neighbors came peeping in through my windows! Ohh that cracked me up. I learned I cant get away with any funny business in this Hood. What else? Ohh just worked on some more pages of D's book here they are:

She is almost 5!!

Wow! Where did those 5 years go?? It is such a blur.... and not just from my tears! I cant believe how emotional I am over this! Kindergarten is almost here and so is her Birthday. I go overboard on her Birthday every year... I am to blame when she will ask for a Wedding I wont be able to afford!  What can I say I just love Birthdays! I am a Holiday girl,  Christmas is the only Holiday I don't look forward to, weird I know, because everyone I know cant wait for Christmas! Now that it is established that her Birthday is at Pump it Up (oh well), the invitations they sent me are not going in her Scrapbook Yuck! So I made my own......... I also made her a Birthday Hat! She loves this one, and I figured out why! it has a princess on it! So that's what has been taking up some of my time, I have also been working on the mini collaboration with Kari, and am almost done to send off here is another page:  I found a place to put the little tiny inchie square Lia challenged me to do. Hope everyone is Creating something this Wednesday! and thanks for the sweetest e-mails and comments Ive been getting from everyone, Jeez everyone in Blog land is so inspiring and kind! hugs

Murphy's Law........ I have avoided the flu, the stomach bug, a cold and pretty much everything else, Ive also have had 2 sick people for over 2 months in the house and the day I plan something fun for me........ I am sick!  Fun I tell ya! I managed to get some fun creative time last night  and spent the day re-doing my daughter's room. The first project was my Friday night Challenge with my buds,  sorry Ive been MIA Lia and Mendy. Here it is: Spring Challenge .... And yes that is a hat!

I also had some vintage suitcases that needed some TLC and a little make-over. here they are:

this one is filled with Vintage clothes, hankies, gloves and lots of fun things to play dress up! The other has her art supplies, and the other one has her dolls.

Each suitcase was under  5 dollars.

Now time to work on my Daughter's Birthday invites! I wanted to give her a Tea Party, but she wants it at Pump it up! That was not my vision of her 5th Birthday when  I was pregnant with her, but who's it about right?? Oh well... Anyone want to join me for tea? I have lots of hats ........ !

Its a Vintage Spring!

Ive been going Vintage hat crazy! Ive had this Vintage hat for a while in my daughter's play clothes trunk and wanted to do something with it.... When I went to my friend Amy Hanna's home last year, which by the way needs to be in a Magazine, She had a Easter hat that she made for one of her twins...... the other one is a tomboy. It inspired me to make one for my little D......... here it is:

I had soo much fun doing this and My girl said she loves it but took it off so fast, made me question the "love"! Well anyways, I love it...... I might have to find another little girl for it, so there little  D! Ive also been having fun with a little Vintage Spring Collaboration with my friend ArtsyMama ....... That girl already got started! So after sending out my other book to Marilyn yesterday, I was working on another one........ they are sooo fun to do! I am not posting what I did for the Marilyn RR, she wanted to be surprised...... so I hope you like it girl! Here is the beginning of the "Vintage Spring" book............. I saw a little sneak peak on Kari's blog and it looks great! Now to work on it some more and send this off next week! I am also working on a Birthday hat for my Daughter's 5th Birthday, and the invites for her party........ Ohh I have more to do than I thought! Isn't that funny when you start writing a list how much things you can come up with, almost too overwhelming! OK , off to Create!
