Good Sunday Morning......

It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood a beautiful day for feeling good, wont you be my neighbor's new neighbor? Worked on the little home all day yesterday... wanted to share some of the shabby little things around the back porch....

I love all things shabby, can you tell? Where am I going to put all this stuff when I move? I had a couple of friends ask me if I moved yet... I still have to sell the house. Not a very good time to do it either. Lucky me I watched one of my favorite shows on Friday 20/20, and guess what happened to be on? A episode on how to sell your home. They gave great advice. Charm is supposed to be one of the best selling points. I am riding on this one, because let's face it that is all my little home has. It was built in 1957. How has it held up all these years you ask? It was made out of brick.... and you all know the story of the 3 little pigs.  I am positive it will sell. If I think any other way, then it wont sell. Let's see. Meeting a girlfriend for a bloody Mary this afternoon and a little shopping. I hate the malls. It is a cult I tell ya! I cant spend any money anyways...... Like that will happen! I did some fun things last night ...... So for the record, I am not moving until one of you moves in my home. I might even put it up on ETSY.... Ha!

What Time is it?

I don't even know ........ but this cute little wind-up clock will tell me! Found it yesterday for 2 dollars and the hen really pecks. It is not vintage but sure looks like it is..... so cute. My head has been spinning with moving plans. The painters are here and I am going through so much of my stuff I needed at the time but will not be going with me to Cali. Last night Darianne went to Grandma's house to spend the night. Notice the new hair cut? I had to do it. She has never had a short hair cut. It needed it so bad and she was begging me. My hubby was not happy, oh well he will get over it. Why do men love long hair? There are so many great hair styles out there. I love this cut!   

I have been having so much fun with this girl. 5 is the best age! When we come home from school.... we spend a couple of hours together just the two of us. One of my friends sent me... don't laugh, but the  Little House on the Prairie box set. We have been watching them. She loves them ! I also love Vintage toys and games...  Vintage sewing cards and...... The Memory game. Remember the one when you were little? If you don't, then this game is not for you! I suck at it... in fact Ive only won twice! Ok, what happened to my memory? It all started to go when I got pregnant. I forget everything, and then add stress and worry in my life..... forget about it! No wonder she loves to play with me, she wins every time! I had 1 Art night this week, and I lasted 2 hours...... here is what Ive been working on:  It is a journal for me..... just to play in..... Very fun to have something to just play in and try new techniques. I hope everyone has a "Play Junque Book". A place to write your thoughts, journal and add pictures. My friend Mendy sent me the cutest Art Doll......  Love this Art Doll and love that Mendy! She always makes me smile!! hugs Mendy and miss you something terrible! Heigh ho Heigh ho..... its off, well you know!

Sew Crazy.....

Ok, the too much time on her hands person sewed this weekend! Play clothes for the rascal... let me explain the new shirt, even though it looks like a dress..... that flying saucer looking thing in the middle is supposed to be a apple pie. Got the image in one of my vintage cookbooks. We call Darianne little apple pie, so I thought I would make her a apple pie shirt to play in. Of course do not look to close at the sewing.  Went and visited my friend Kat and her 4, yes 4 children and two of them are 3 months old. Let's just say I wont be complaining about my life anytime soon and if I do you have permission to remind me of her life! Wow,  I came home exhausted.... and what a cute family. Her husband came home and turned on the Yankee game, he picked up the boys like footballs and held them watching the game! I also made this shirt: I used this vintage material Ive had for a while, it looks cute with jeans... I have to say that hanging with Kat, inspired me to sew more and also these people:Soulemama, Heather and Kat showed me this Angry Chicken . Kat had Angry chicken's book and the first page I turn to is the same thing I had! She had one of the spinning clothes hanger with hand towels hanging and a little bird! How funny is that? Well I will be buying her book that's for sure! These ladies are so inspiring.... I love people that sew and make me want to sew more.... happiness. Please check them out on their blogs......... WOW!  Well, before I go and buy this Bend-the-rules sewing, I have to show you a couple things that went up on my ETSY today. Lots of birds and some more things are going up like this: Mini baby sleeping signs...... have to finish them but first going on a family walk, the dog is so unloved at the moment and the weather is much better, then it's   Sunday night dinner........ bye for now!

A Vintage Picnic basket....

On Tuesday I packed a picnic basket for a couple of my fellow teachers. I made some sandwiches then wrapped them up in butcher paper and tied them with twine. I also had some Salt and Vinegar chips and some Ice cold Pop. I told you I love picnics! They said I have too much time on my hands and the funny thing is I really don't! Do you ever wonder how other Women do it? I mean really, between a full time job, a child, a house to run and yourself to take care of..... are you as tired as me at night? I have friends that have 4 children! How on Earth? Last night I hit the pillow so hard at the earliest hour I think I have in I cant remember when.... 8:30. I rested with my daughter at her bedtime and she went out pretty quick . I could not get out of her bed, so I said heck with it! and I fell asleep. I wish I could get the secret on how everyone manages. I guess we all have our ways. I am learning that we cant get it all done and to just let things go. So hard for me...... one of my friends asked me if "Me" time was on Sundays and I said yes.... but "Me" time isn't really about me.... it means being alone as I run errands. Oh well ! It still is the best job on Earth! I had to share this Vintage goodie with you:  It is a vintage hanger...... it is pink and it spins! I have so many plans for this cool thing! I might have to get another one... to make a baby mobile.  right now it is holding vintage hankies..... and birdies. Well that's all for now......... Friday tomorrow!

Are you ready for some football?

Or are you ready to become a football widow? I don't mind either way. I like to  watch one game, but not the whole day of football! I used to get upset about football Sunday when I was first married. Well now I am soo over it! It is Me, Myself and I time! I do enjoy the excitement of the games! It is also nice to see this guy on ESPN Prime Time: Emmit and his family. Nice smile, nice guy and a pretty good dancer! Darianne's first boyfriend was EJ, his adorable son! Funny thing is I cant stand the Cowboys... the team the rest of America loves to hate. I have so much to talk about the wedding, but I did not take any pictures... just of the bride, so I will write about it another day. I don't know about you but around this time I start thinking about picnics. I love picnics! I have 7 vintage picnic baskets that hold all of my Art supplies. I am into making delicious sandwiches lately: This one is made with a grilled marinated chicken breast, roasted red peppers, Roma tomatoes and a pesto aioli on fresh crusty bread......... Yum! Needs a old-fashioned Pop and some salt and vinegar potato chips. I will skip them today, I had too much food at that wedding!
