Back in business.....

In the Love business that is! I have 2 weeks off of work. My daughter has to go to school......yay! I sound like a bad Mom huh? Well.. if you have kids then you know how much after the Holidays you need a break from them. After all it's all about them the whole time!  Now its all about Valentines Day for me! I love it so much!! Like I didn't get enough chocolate for Christmas!  Don't worry, Ive been hitting the gym like crazy...... thats all I got for Christmas, a new Gym membership, work-out clothes, gloves ... OK, OK I get the hint! I guess I must have packed on a couple during the move and nobody has the heart to tell me. I am so happy though, because now The Valentines Etsy Shop is now Open! I will be adding more things through-out the next 2 weeks! I am also throwing myself back into the Artsy thing after a long absence due to the  Move. So glad to start another Round Robin with this Gal...Marilyn. She amazes me with her talent and is ohh so sweet! I will show you what I come up with!! abrazos!

Unwrapping some little presents for Christmas..

Well you all know why us Mexicans have tamales for Christmas right? So we have something to unwrap! he he.... I love, love , love Tamales! Big Mexican tradition. I have to show you some pictures of the process. I got to my Mom's house just in time... while they were almost all made. I know, bad Daughter!   This is an all day process.. but 300 tamales later, you don't want to see one again until next Christmas! Everyone makes them a little different. Our family recipe includes masa , 1 slice of carrot,  1 sliced potato, seasoned pork, olives, a green bell pepper.....yum! Well, Feliz Navidad everyone!

I hope everyone is having a Stress free Holiday Season. I have never been a Christmas person. I know, I know, I am a Scrooge right? I don't mean to be..... I just get so stressed out. It doesn't help moving at around the same time. Are we crazy.... yes...! I grew up here in California and it amazes people back East that we even have a Christmas. Well its pretty funny when  the beach cities get into it. Like Sunday night for instance. They had a huge fireworks show in Manhattan Beach.... and right above the sand, they had snow. My child will not know what a real Christmas is like here in Cali...( my husband from Ohio says) but I guarantee that the Summers will Rock! I did not send out a Christmas card this year. I am doing a combination Holiday/Moving card. I took rascal down to the Beach and came up with these photos. I am not too happy with them. I guess I gave up after the 9th bribe! Well just wanted to pop in and say Merry Christmas to my Blog Friends! and Happy Hanukkah to my Sweet Friend Mendy! Miss you!  

Life is back to normal.....

  Wow! What a whirlwind! I am finally getting a calm feeling. I have been going, going since July. Finding out we were moving within 3 months.... a new Home.... new job..... new school for Little D........a new Life. It just takes the Zen right out of you! I had some time to work out in the yard today. Can I just say how great it is to have plants that will not melt in the heat? The flowers are so beautiful here. I can honestly say I am happy to be back. I went to dinner with one of my  childhood friends that I have known since I was 11, and it felt like nothing had changed! Ran into one of my other 2 good friends that are sisters at the store..... all three of us just couldn't believe our luck! I think I have something planned almost everyday this week with everyone. My husband is not from here, and doesn't know anybody here but my family.  I have never seen him so content. He has always wanted to live by the beach, now he gets to see it everyday outside the windows at his Work. He says there is no feeling like it.  Next time I have to take my camera and show you where  my running path is. Let's just say I don't need an IPod, the sound  of the waves are just right! Well  just being here is my Christmas present. I have not been in the mood to decorate, but when you have a 5 year-old saying "we need to start thinking about Christmas Mom" I guess that's my cue. We spent last night decorating the tree and watching ELF... love that Movie! I have to show you our Christmas lists. I had nothing to do with mine (notice the iron on My List?... was my Mom involved with that one?)

Don't you just love the way children write? This girl is getting pretty good at it(hubby is too! ) She is growing like crazy! She disappeared into her room  for a couple hours and came out with these cute paper bag puppets. Their names are Patty and Simon... they are so cute!

You always worry about your children through stressful times and  wonder if they are happy. Well after today..... I can feel confident that she is... thank you all for the well wishes and e-mails. It was nice to read them during these rough times! hugs
