Hello friends.....

I wanted to post on Sunday, but that day goes so fast. Just a little recap on what Ive been up to. First I wanted to show you some things around the house that make me happy. I am vowing to go through a drawer or closet a day and organize, throw things out and clean up...... I am also tackling my paper work. I cant believe how much time this takes! Here is our kitchen corner, organized with a HOME book to put everything that is important like insurance info, vet info,  important school papers etc. I also found this adorable lantern that hangs on my sliding glass door.....

I am also really getting into the gardening this year.... here is what is growing in our backyard...... Serrano's, mint and basil........ feel so proud.  I am also making some gifts to a friend at work........ so well deserved. It is her Birthday and she just loves elephants......here is her banner and a little homemade pocket to hold a necklace I bought for her..... wish I knew how to make jewelry... that is my friend Amy's specialty... I also have goodies for my Halloween Party Swap...... And last but certainly not least.... met someone so sweet! Finally after many emails, swaps and friendship on the net got to meet Hope from Paper Relics. Just love her and of course Mary. We had so much fun at dinner. Speaking of my friend Mary, her on line store is going to blow you away! We also have the best sign ups for What Lola wants........ please join us it is going to be so much fun! What Lola Wants........

So exciting news for Sweetpeas! Ive been waiting patiently (not something I am good at).... to present "What Lola Wants.. Lola Gets!"..... About a year ago Mary called me and said she wanted to know if I wanted to be in the Home Companion Christmas Issue 2008 with Sweetpeas. I was in the middle of my move at the time and stressed beyond belief... but I could not pass it up. I have been wanting to be in Home Companion ever since I picked up a issue about 5 years ago. Now was my chance, Add more stress to my Move, during Christmas..... well the answer was yes!  So happy I did it. Now We are having a amazing Event only Mary knows how to pull off. I mean you are in for a treat....... the day starts with  classes with Mary, Beth Quinn, Robert Maher and myself.... and  will end with a night that you will never forget! The entertainer at the Event is a Event in itself!  Well there you have one of the two of my big news........ What Lilia (I mean Lola) wanted was to be In Home Companion and Lola got it..... Well its Sunday... I missed my Sundays in Arizona so much. I had to make it seam like we were back.  I started the day with Hawaiians bread French Toast.... My Mom used to make it. Just use Hawaiian Sweet Bread instead of white bread.... ohhh so yummy ! I also made bacon...... sorry my veggie friends... I will always like meat. I have this old fashioned bacon press that works so good. I hate microwave bacon...

Next I did some little things..Like putting labels on all of D's sweaters and Jackets.

I cant believe how many jackets and sweaters are left in our class without names on them..... Please label your child's things. OK, enough Teacher scolding......

I had the day to do little things that needed to get done..... you know the kind you dread during the week? I found these cute strawberry iron labels at my favorite Japanese store.

Next I convinced my Husband to hang up my chandelier......from Mary! Thanks Mary. Poor guy, it took all day. So worth it though...... here is a photo......

I then went shopping for those fun Grocery's and things that we are out of.....while the little Family stays home and watches football.... the sound of the game feels like being back in AZ.......

Came home to my little D looking too cute had to take some photos of her..... she still looks so little in her piggies.....  the two sweet ones are my favorite and the other silly one is the one she wishes  they were all like! Well hope everyone has a great week!  hugs

Lots of Art to share and Happiness....

Had a great weekend I hate to see it go.... I started Sunday with my 5 mile walk. I missed my walk in Arizona around the Park and Pond. I finally found the right path here. I mean I love walking on the Beach and there is nothing like it, but sometimes the parking on the Weekends is really hard. I think it is changing now that summer is over. I was thinking to myself as I was walking on my new cool path, why I love to walk  so much. Not for the exercise (even though the benefits are amazing), not to lose weight (always struggle with those last 10 pounds and I think I always will) but I do it because it really clears my head and calms my body and mind down. I have always been a hyper active person. I am a person that worries and thinks about everything. I don't sleep as well as other people do at night. I cant take naps during the day. Walking takes away all the negative thoughts that run through my head from time to time. Ive noticed that I hardly have negative thoughts anymore. It also helps that I have a very positive husband. He really is that much of a nice guy. The Boat can be sinking (which it has a couple of times in our marriage) and he just knows in his heart that everything will be alright. He just says why focus on what could go wrong? Or if it does go wrong,  change it. Great Man. So there you have it. If you are as hyper as me or feeling a little down and negative, my advice to you is take a long walk. Better than prozac.

I did do some Art that did not involve Halloween. I know, I took myself out of that mode somehow. I altered a ugly brown metal tool box that I found for 1.99..... great for all my scissors and tools.  I worked on my HOME journal. Here are some pictures:

I also worked on a Scrapbook with a friend from work. I actually Scrapbooked! She needed to do a Book to put advice for the Mother. We used the black and white picture of them..... Well lots more to share and will probably post lots of things happening with Books and a magazine that I am in.....Ohhh so excited to share....but until now I hope everyone has a very positive week and lots of Happiness in all the little things........

 

The start of a new School Year and much more........

The new school year is so exciting! Love everything about it. I am also starting to decorate the house in Halloween... I know a little bit too soon. Just cant help it! I am so into owls this time around. I love this little owl on our vintage Bakers Rack. I also found this adorable Owl necklace at La Maison for 2 dollars! I am also adding so many things into my Halloween Shoppe. Like this Sign I made last year and decided to make it a Kit this year. So many new tags......... What was the first clue that I love this Holiday? Wanted to let everyone know the Swap is now closed. So Happy just the right amount of Girls joined! I will show you what I send off to my Swap partner and what I receive..I Cannot Wait!.

Last week I told you I did the PS I LOVE  YOU FOUNDATION'S DAY AT THE BEACH . I wasn't sure if Darianne really understood. Well she did something that touched me soo much and made me feel bad for doubting that she would understand. Here is what happened. She always finds money on the ground. I mean almost every time we are out together. Whether its a couple of pennies....or a 20 dollar bill. She found almost 3 dollars in change today. She usually takes her money home and puts it in her ATM machine. She has 51 dollars in there! It is all her money and she is saving up for a American Girl Doll.. (which by the way I refuse to buy) I took her to McDonald's ... I know what you are thinking (cant really stand the place either, but I do remember very long ago it being a 5 star restaurant to me too) anyways got a little side tracked like I always do. She took all the money she found and just went straight to this jar that holds money for some Charity   .. on the front of the jar there is a picture of some little girl in Guatemala with no shoes, disheveled clothes and hair... well you get the picture. She turns around and says to me "This little girl needs this money more than me Mom". OH my..........talk about tears in my eyes.... God I love her. It is never too early to start teaching our children about these things... I said it before I am so lucky . Hope everyone is ready for a fantastic School year!
