Something Wicked this way comes...

Hello Friends!... I finally got around to actually doing some Art. All my friends know I love Halloween! I did not do anything for the Holiday last year. Not this year! I am looking forward to it! I wanted to make a Spooky Halloween book, one of those scary ones... Its very vintage style. I wanted a book with lots of spooky images, where you feel like at any moment a Ghost will pop out of it. Very sinister and Wicked. It is generally not my typical style. I love vintage cute and elegant. So I had to hold back on my signature polka dots on my pages. That was very challenging to me! I have collected many vintage black, tarnished brass baubles, jewelry,  and hardware. I have been keeping them in a small little suitcase just for my Sinister style Art. I have to share some pages and the Cover of the book.... 

Here is SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES....

I used a Vintage black leather phone book..... It was falling apart and very worn.. but just the book I needed. 

I love this creepy image of this little girl.. I put her picture in a brass frame encased with diamond glaze. I am not done with the book... I want to work on it some more.. so very excited! 

I have so much going on right now... We got a new Dog. My Dog Nikko passed away in October from bone cancer. It was one of the hardest losses I have ever experienced! It was my first dog. When my friends told me about how painful it was going to be... I really had no idea. It still hurts a little. Not as bad as when we had to put him down. So hard... Nothing prepares you.. nothing. I could not even talk about it until recently. I was ready to get a new BFF..... So after lurking on all the German Shepherd rescues for months now.. I was ready. I knew it had to be a rescue dog.. or a shelter dog. I went down on Saturday morning to walk the Shepherds ( you can volunteer to walk some pals before you make the decision to take one home).. I found him..... His new name is MAX.. no, he doesn't answer to his new name.. but he will. He is 1 1/2 years old, half the size of my Nikko... but just as smart and handsome...  I did have second thoughts on Saturday night when he was crying all night.. pacing and nervous.. it was hard. I know it will get better. I will get happier in time... but I know I made the right decision.

What else? My little girl has been gone for 10 days now to Summer Camp in Miami. I miss her.. Terrible. The great thing about it though is that I get to catch up with girlfriends and get to go out. One of my Besties is Kelly. Kelly and I have known each other for 2 years now. We worked together in the same classroom and We went to UC Irvine last year together. We took the same courses..... and both got our Teaching degrees together. She is a great friend and very much like a sister to me.. I just adore her! Sometimes you meet people in your Life that you work with that become Family, it doesnt happen often, but when it does you are lucky. This is her.. I went to a Girls Weekend to Palm Springs .. and I had to take pictures of my Beautiful friend.. here she is... My Kell...

Hello Blogland, Ive missed you!

Well this has been a long time… Wow. What have I been up to??, getting what I’ve been dreaming about but putting off for years. My Teaching Degree in the upper grades. Yes. I did it! Wow… What a year… the hardest most challenging, But oh so worth it Year. Straight A’s Baby. Every weekend was taken up and my Family  and Home have been put on hold. Which comes to another thing that I have missed, My Art. My Art friends know how much  I love doing Art. For a while there  it was getting stale and not fun. I was losing my mojo and  It had  become what I have been dreading and  what I did not want EVER… a JOB. It is my Love, My hobby and my passion. Not a Job or something that makes me question every move I make. I have a Job, a full time Job that makes me happy, I am a Teacher and it is what makes me happy everyday, yes it is possible to have a job you love. Sure I love to sell my Art and supplies on Etsy.. but that is not what I have been all about. I am much more refreshed, much more ready to share and get back to doing what I Love… My Art. I want to share what Ive been making lately.. Yes, I spent the past week getting into the pool slowly…. It feels good.

One of My Birthday Boxes,to hold a gift for a friend.. these usually have Birthday candles, plastic ballerina, matches and a tiny note... This one had a Gift card and a note.

A project basket filled with vintage papers, vintage ribbons, velvet flocked fabric and much more to get me started on a Doll Book that I am working on....

Ohhh I love Halloween and this new Book is Called "Something Wicked this way comes...." I cannot wait to show you the inside, its going to be good... a little creepy and alot wicked..

I went Thrifting for the First Time in I cannot remember when.. Found vintage patterns, Large Lace roll, vintage napkins to use for my collage backgrounds, Bright Pink Pom Pom trim, lots of flocked velvet fabric in different sizes and patterns and the box is filled with French  cream twine... 

Yes I am Happy. And I think my Daughter D is happy, remember her? She is 9 now. I know Ive missed so much in her Life this year, but I am trying to  make it up daily. We put up a tent in the backyard for her to do her Summer reading. Once in a while you can catch her reading her American Girl magazine in her private little space..
